You can choose any of these karats when you choose a grillz style.

We highly recommend to not smoke with the gold teeth on at all. All grillz should be removed if wanting to smoke. After smoking, people should brush their teeth and mouth before placing the gold teeth in the mouth again. This will prevent the teeth from tarnishing and help elongate the life span of the grillz.

Is gold plated grillz bad?

They generally are removable but some grill wearers have had their teeth altered with gold crowns to permanently resemble a grill. At present there are no studies that show that grills are harmful to the mouth—but there are no studies that show that their long-term wear is safe, either.

Does 14K gold bend easily?

14 karat gold rings or greater will see very little tarnishing if any at all. Gold rings that are below 14 karat will have less pure gold and will most likely be tarnished over a period of time. The higher the karat of gold means the less base metals used and the less likely to tarnish.
